In preparation for Halloween we had a storyteller Ruth Marshall visit our school to tell the children some spooky Halloween stories and use our local flora to create some nature portrait art.
Our local artist Therese Murphy came to the school for an art workshop to create leaf rubbings to display in our church for the Harvest Festival Mass.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and we are very lucky to have such a talented local artist to share her skills with the children.
The children enjoyed their hurling and camogie training sessions with Cian Ryan.
They worked on many skills such as striking, dribbling, lifting and hand passing through games and fun.
We had a speaker from Biodiversity Ireland who spoke to the children about all our local plants and animals. We went for a nature walk and gathered leaves, berries, branches and plants. The children then made necklaces and used clay and plants to create their own masterpieces!
